Crimson is a stage that first appeared in the Japanese PlayStation 2 version of Dead or Alive 2. It reappeared in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, and in Dead or Alive 6 as Chinese Festival.
Story[]
Dead or Alive 2/Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate[]
In Dead or Alive 2, the Crimson is where Ryu Hayabusa and Jann Lee become at odds with each other: believing that mere "commoners" like Jann Lee would be unable to handle a tengu, Hayabusa tried to warn him of the dangers ahead, but Jann Lee took it as a insult, thinking that Hayabusa saw him as a "weakling".
Before their match, Helena Douglas asks Gen Fu his reason for entering the tournament. Gen Fu states that he wants to win the prize money to pay for his granddaughter's operation so she can be cured. Gen Fu also asks Helena the same question but she states that it was none of his business.
Dead or Alive 6[]
Leifang and Jann, preparing for the sixth tournament, fight here when Leifang surprises Jann, claiming that he needs to take the fight with her to get his head back in the game following the events of DOA 5.
Description[]
The stage looks somewhat similar to DOATEC HK since it looks like the city Hong Kong with run down buildings and Oriental City inspiration all over the place. The stage mechanics are also similar since you are able to get thrown off the building or into the secret window. The city street is much smaller when compared to DOATEC HK but players are either able to kick the opponent into the Taxi Cab or into the huge sign that may get destroyed when one of the players gets thrown off the building.
In Dead Or Alive 6, the stage reflects the damage done to it when knocking a person off the roof in previous games, with scaffolding showing some the building where the fight starts under repair. More importantly, the fight takes place in the middle of Chinese New Year celebrations, with firecrackers lining some of the walls and floor, while revelers stand around watching the fight. Knocking an opponent into a wall with firecrackers deals extra damage, while knocking them down on firecrackers in the floor will launch them again. Knocking an opponent into a reveler will have them push the opponent back towards the player.
