Dead or Alive 5 will be the 5th installment in the successful Dead or Alive series of video games. Designer Tomonobu Itagaki stated in an interview that has the first play concepts in mind. The platforms for Dead or Alive 5 is not known at this time, although Xbox 360 is presumed due to Itagaki's relationship with Microsoft. A release date has yet to be announced.

However, in a recent interview with Computer and Video Games (CVG), Tomonobu Itagaki was asked about the Dead or Alive series and replied, "This is another area that me and my closest colleagues all agree that we were able to achieve the definitive fighting game with DOA4. So we're not looking to extend the series at this point."

Dead or Alive 5 is probably not going to be made anytime soon yet as Tomonobu Itagaki had sued Tecmo and resigned from it, along with several other colleagues. The series of Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive has thus come to a halt.

However according to Gamespot, Tecmo was to reveal "the greatest game ever" on the 24th of March, but Gamespot has yet to unveil what game was shown.
