The following are the costumes available to Ayane in all versions of Dead or Alive 2 (1999-2000), including the DOA2: Hardcore games.
Arcade versions[]
In the original arcade version, Ayane only had two costumes, which are available to her from the start, with the first being her purple mini-dress from the previous games and the second being a brand new costume.
In the Dead or Alive 2: Millennium update, Ayane gains a new school uniform, though it is only available when imputing the correct commands.

Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions[]
For the Dreamcast versions and the Japanese PlayStation 2 version, Ayane has three default costumes (later just two), and over time gains four new unlockable costumes.
On the Japanese Dreamcast version, there are four ways to get each costume. Two are quick but difficult to do, while the other two take time but are easy to complete. If the player uses the UPS options, the costumes will be saved to the UPS and not the system file. This means that if the system file is copied, the costumes will not be, as the UPS is not transferable.
