Hot Zone is a stage that appears in Dead or Alive 5.
Story[]
Bayman fights Hayate and Zack here, largely being brought about by a mutual pursuit of Kasumi and Phase 4, and Zack's insistence on Bayman accompanying him, Ayane, and Hayate to the tournament respectively.
Description[]
Hot Zone is a one-level, square-shaped stage set in a war zone within a modern city of unknown location. Notable elements of the stage include partly-destroyed buildings, tanks, sandbags, and barbed wire. The overall color scheme is pale and muted, due to the bright sunlight and the dust flying about in the air.
Another notable element is the number of people on the sidelines of the stage. Some are combat troops from an unknown army and the others are a group of terrorists or rebels fighting against the army. While some of these people cannot directly interact with the fighters, players will be able to hear them shouting at the characters to get out of the area. Additional sound effects include explosions and heavy gunfire.
The stage is roughly rectangular in shape, with a wall of sandbags splitting in half. It is easy for fighters to jump over the sandbags but first the barbed wire running along the top of this temporary wall must be destroyed by having one of the fighters crash against it.
There are three known Danger Zones. The first is triggered when a fighter is thrown into an unstable shelter supported by an orange barrel located in the first half of the arena. When the attacked fighter is thrown against it, a rocket propelled grenade will come from the opposite direction and blow up when it impacts with the fighter, causing additional damage. The second is in the latter half of the stage when a helicopter crashes to the ground. When fighters are thrown against it, it will explode and cause more damage. The third is a door, marked with an orange 'X,' also in the latter half of the stage. When fighters are launched against it, a breaching charge will blow the door outward, causing extra damage.

Trivia[]
- Hot Zone seems to be heavily inspired by urban warfare.
- The fighters strangely never get shot by any of the bullets being shot around them, even if the soldier shooting the gun is pointing it in their direction. They probably are avoiding the fighters since they are civilians, and shooting them would have severe consequences. However, Bayman wears military clothing and is a mercenary, and is still called a civilian.
