Hayate/Dead or Alive 5 costumes

The following are the costumes available to Hayate in the 2012 title Dead or Alive 5, and its 2013 PlayStation Vita port Dead or Alive 5+.

For both games, Hayate's costumes unlock in the order listed, regardless of the difficulty and mode played. Only one costume is unlocked per mode, per difficulty in the game. Also, the tag team option is considered a different mode than the solo option in the Arcade Mode, and both characters chosen in the tag team will unlock a costume.

Dead or Alive 5

At the start of the game, Hayate has four different costumes, with two being available from the start and the remaining two costumes being unlocked through either Arcade Mode, Time Attack Mode, or Survival Mode.

With the release of the downloadable costumes, Hayate was given three different DLC costumes, adding his total up to seven costumes.

	Costume 1 - Black shinobi shōzoku with a pair of boots that have studs on the soles, a set of grey-and-brown armor with the crest of the Mugen Tenshin clan on the backplate, and a metal headband. He also has the Jinran-Maru and a wakizashi, both of which are secured to the back of his body.	Default
	Costume 2 - White-and-blue shinobi shōzoku with a chain mail and black pants worn under the shōzoku, a pair of leg guards, tabi-style boots, a pair of padded gloves, and a metal headband. 	Costume 3 - Red shinobi shōzoku with a set of black clothes worn under the shōzoku, a chest guard, a set of black armor, tabi-style boots, a metal headband, a scarf, and a mask which covers his lower face. He also has a metal bow secured to his back, and a quiver attached to his belt. (The costume is based on his second costume from Dead or Alive 3.) 	Costume 4 - White-and-black vest with the Mugen Tenshin crest, a black-and-white shinobi shōzoku, tabi-style boots with leg guards, a black-and-gold sash, ribbon wrapped around his wrists, and a metal headband. (The costume is based on Shiden's first costume from Dead or Alive Dimensions.)	Complete any difficulty on either Arcade Mode, Time Attack Mode, or Survival Mode
	Costume 5 - White-and-blue shinobi shōzoku with the shirt and a chain mail tied around his waist, black pants worn under the shōzoku, a pair of leg guards, tabi-style boots, a pair of padded gloves, and a metal headband. He also has a wakizashi secured to the back of his waist. (The costume is a redesign of his second costume.)	"Special Set 2" DLC
	Costume 6 - Dressed as Santa Claus. The costume consists of a over-size red jacket with white fur, matching pants, and a pair of boots. He also wears a metal headband.	"Lil' Santas" DLC
	Costume 7 - Black shorts with a patterned edge and the Mugen Tenshin crest on his left leg, MMA gloves, and a metal headband.	"Fighter Pack" DLC

Dead or Alive 5+

In Dead or Alive 5+, Hayate gains one new costume which is unlocked by completing any difficulty on either Arcade Mode, Time Attack Mode, or Survival Mode.

With this new addition, Hayate now has a total of eight costumes.

Trivia

• In Story Mode, Hayate wears only his first costume.
• In the game's Alpha Demo, Hayate (one of the four playable characters) only has the option of wearing his first two costumes.
