Genra

From Dead or Alive Wiki

Genra is a non-playable character in Dead or Alive. He is the leader of the Hajin Mon sect of the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan and Ayane's adoptive father. Since Ayane's birth, everyone treated her like dirt and she had no one to go to. Genra took Ayane in and became her father, teaching her Haji Mon Style Ninjutsu. Genra was the one who sent Ayane to kill Kasumi after she left Mugen Tenshin village.

[edit] History

In Dead or Alive 3, Genra was somewhat taken by DOATEC and was used for yet another experiment, Project OMEGA. He was transformed into a superhuman known as Omega, meaning that Genra is no longer human. In the third tournament, he was defeated by Ayane.

[edit] Personality

Genra, despite his overlying loyalty for the Tenjinmon ninja clan, is at his core an honorable person. When he noticed that Ayane was introverted and looked down upon, he felt sorry for her and took her in. This resulted in a father/daughter bond between him and Ayane, a kind of parental relationship Ayane had never felt before. In his Omega form, however, he seems to know little more than death and destruction, going as so far to became a sadist, immune to other's pain.

[edit] Appearances

The only time Genra is seen is in the intro of Dead or Alive Ultimate.

[edit] Trivia

  • Ayane has his mask attached to her belt in Dead or Alive 4. Oddly enough the same costume featuring Genra's mask was featured as her default costume in DOA2U, in which the events of that story took place before Dead or Alive 3.
  • Genra is seen in the motion picture albeit, without his mask (however his face is blurred). He is the man at the back of the room who tells Ayane that Kasumi's departure from the Mugen Tenshin clan is an act of betrayal, he then instructs Ayane to kill Kasumi. His actor was uncredited.
