In the original arcade version, Kasumi had a total of three costumes, all of which are available to her from the start, with her first two costumes being her tunics from the previous games and the third being a brand new costume.
In the Dead or Alive 2: Millennium update, Kasumi regains her navy blue sailor fuku from the PlayStation remake of the first Dead or Alive, though it is only available when imputing the correct commands.

Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions[]
For the Dreamcast versions and the Japanese PlayStation 2 version, Kasumi has three default costumes (later just two), and over time gains four new unlockable costumes.
With exception to the Japanese Dreamcast versions, Kasumi's costumes either have her hair worn in a braid with two hair bows (costume 1-2, 5-6) or a ponytail (costumes 3-4).
In the Japanese Dreamcast version, all of her costumes now have her hair worn in a ponytail, though costumes one, two, five, and six allow the option to have the braid again by pressing the button.
On the Japanese Dreamcast version, there are four ways to get each costume. Two are quick but difficult to do, while the other two take time but are easy to complete. If the player uses the UPS options, the costumes will be saved to the UPS and not the system file. This means that if the system file is copied, the costumes will not be, as the UPS is not transferable.

Trivia[]
Costumes 1 and 2 both have the kanji for "Eighteenth generation of Tenshin-style: Kasumi" (天神流第十八代目霞 Tenshin-ryū dai jūhachi-daime: Kasumi).
This the same for costume 7 in the Japanese Dreamcast version, and costumes 7 and 8 in the DOA2: Hardcore games.
