I had a bit of an idea: Since there's little chance Xtreme Venus Vacation is going to be released outside Japan, I was thinking we'd create an article that deals with transcripts of the various episodes, which when translated would be vital for expanding on various character articles with the necessary sourcing.
I've got a start on it, but I'm probably going to need a lot of help neatening out the translations and fixing any gaffes (I had to use Google Translator and Bing Translator, especially for the Kanji).
We'll need someone well-versed in Japanese to give cleaner and more accurate translations. So far, the only translations I had to use are Bing and to a certain extent Google, and let's just say they're not quite good (sometimes they translate Honoka as "faint" (or similar words), for example, and Bing's translation ruined Honoka's cheer for Misaki.).
Actually, on second thought, could you or someone else do the transcriptions of the Japanese text? My computer is basically freezing up or shutting down prematurely, or at the very least the tabs cause too many refreshes that interfere with my attempt at transcriptions/translations. It's pretty much these ones:
I didn't find the name of a Leon's move in DOA 3, in which he grabs the opponent aiming at his waist-bust and, once took him down, he hits with a combo of punches. And which is Delvish Throw ? Thank you.
You do have to consider that we don't just look at one particular game, especially a non-canon game.
If you look at how Honoka looks regularly in the DOA series, especially at her game render, they don't really look the same, and even if you just looked at the artwork for Senran Kagura, you can clearly tell that their two separate characters.
I understand but they do look similar. If Honoka let her hair down, then she'll resemble her even more. They're even mods that have her cosplay as Super Sonic. They even have a very similar personality. Honoka from Love Live looks similar to Honoka but just like Super Sonic, there's differences.
Drepayton, I don't want you to get upset over this, but remember that even though Honoka is your favourite character, she isn't just "yours", this wiki is for the whole DOA fanbase, and the other Honoka fans.
Hello, I read that Christie was told to have the following quote in DOA 3: "I'm gonna crush you like the worm you are". But, at least for the Italian version, she never says this; I think it could belong to another title. Can you find the one ? Thank you.
Hello, hope you are all fine, I want to ask about:
How is the correct way to add a link in a text, for example "Twitter teaser for the "Halloween 2017 Costumes" DLC." o(I just copied this text) But when it's a new picture I can't add the link in the text properly, so I do it different but I don't want to annoy other editors.
If I find a bigger picture, how can I replace the old one without making a mess? I tried with one and endend changing the format of the chart.
Drepayton305, I'm just going to give you my honest opinion and take it as you will.
I do believe that you are overreacting over this whole situation.
Your passion for keeping Honoka's page in check is, while a bit intense at times, something that is needed in a good editor and Moderator.
But you have to realise a few things about being a Moderator.
I made you a Moderator because I felt that I could trust you and keep Honoka's page in check.
However, that did not mean that you have the last say in what content and/or information goes or is taken off the page.
Wikia is all about fan community and the DOA wiki is no exception, with all DOA fans having the right to edit the wiki.
For us Moderators (and me now seen as the de facto Admin), it is our responsibity to maintain the standards of the wiki, double-check facts, always try to make improvements for the wiki, etc.
I know that I started editing the DOA wiki was because I wanted my fellow fans to trust this site and know that what they see is the truth.
As with what happened with TheDragonAwakens, I do believe that you lost control of the situation and acted out more on a personal level rather than a professional one.
It wasn't fair when you immediately accused him of being a troll as I know that for me he's a trusted editor.
Instead you both should have just discussed it calmly and in a professional manner, both listening to the other's opinion, and then seeing what is the best way forward.
In this situation, I'm going to have to agree with TheDragonAwakens, and it has made my realise that I'm going to have to go over the characters' trivia on their pages in the next few days and double check on the character resemblances from different series.
At the end of all of this, just try to remember that being a Moderator for a wiki usually means that you a Moderator for all the wiki, and not one Moderator is assigned to one particular page. It is through your own personal choice that you just want to monitor Honoka's page and that is something that I can respect.
However, being a Moderator means taken on a big amount of responsibity and professionalism, and not trying to make everything personal.
Please don't leave over this one little incident and I hope you realise that you passion is one of the many things needed for this wiki.
Just try to remember that you are not the only editor on this wiki, nor the only Honoka fan in the world, and always try to learn from from your mistakes.
If you're still leaving the wiki then I have no objections and it is your own choice.
I understand, thank you very much. Sorry I didn't reply but I was dealing with the whole hurricane thing. I'll be very happy to take such responsibilities and I won't over react like that again thank you.
