The Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan is a prominent clan of ninjas located within the mountains of Japan. For unknown reasons DOATEC seems to be fixated on the clan; using the clans members as subjects in their experiments (Raidou, Hayate, Kasumi, Genra).

[edit] Ayame’s Rape and Ayane's Birth
Way back when Hayate and Kasumi were just babies, their mother Ayame was raped by Raidou; Hayate and Kasumi's uncle and the progenitor of the clan's problems. After that night Ayame was found pregnant. After 9 months she gave birth to a girl and named her Ayane. However, despite her parentage, everyone in the village thought of her as a demon child. Through the years Ayane was taken care of by Genra, in an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ affair.
When Kasumi and Ayane were children, they became great friends, and Ayane was very close to Hayate as well. However, Ayane's relationship with Kasumi and Hayate didn't last as Ayame would later tell Ayane that she was her daughter, resulting in Ayane’s complex against Kasumi, and Hayate would be beaten in a fight against Raidou, rendered cripple and comatose.
As years went by, Ayane practiced the arts of Mugen Tenshin Hajimon until that one day, she would defeat Raidou for what he done.
[edit] Raidou's Return
One day, Raidou returned to the Mugen Tenshin Village to acquire the Torn Sky Blast, one of the clan’s prominent techniques. Ayane tried to defeat Raidou, but was defeated. Hayate goes after, engaging Raidou in combat where Raidou mimics Hayate’s Torn Sky Blast technique and bests him in a technique duel. Resulting in Hayate falling in a coma and rendered paraplegic.
[edit] Kasumi's Departure
After that night, Kasumi wanted to know more of what happened and to avenge Hayate. Unfortunately, Kasumi was also to be the 18th master of the village, replacing Hayate. Unable to go through with it she left the Mugen Tenshin Village on a quest for vengeance against Raidou.
Now a runaway shinobi, Kasumi is marked for assassination, with the job initially falling to Ayane to kill her. Ayane goes and searches for Kasumi while Kasumi herself enters the first Dead or Alive tournament and kills Raidou.
[edit] DOATEC and the DOA Tournaments
It is unclear why but DOATEC had begun using members of the Mugen Tenshin clan as subjects in their experiments. Project Epsilon saw the abduction and experimentation of the paraplegic and comatose Hayate, though he regains his mobility and consciousness Hayate also loses his memory. Considered a failure he is abandoned in the Black Forest of Germany. Later Kasumi is captured and cloned for Project Alpha before being released. During the second DOA tournament Hayate, going by the name of ‘Ein’, participates in an effort to regain his memory through ‘trail-by-fire’ while Kasumi participates to destroy her clone; Kasumi X. Furthermore Ayane, still charged with Kasumi’s assassination, follows Kasumi through the tournament.
By the third tournament DOATEC had captured master ninja Genra and converted him into a new superhuman creature known as Omega. The third tournament was, for all purposes, a mercy kill mission for the Mugen Tenshin clan, with Hayate, Ryu and Ayane participating for the purpose of confronting Omega. Kasumi, still hounded by the clan ninja, participated to see Hayate again.
Fed up with being used Hayate, as the clan’s newest head ninja, would lead an assault against the DOATEC tritower during the fourth DOA tournament. The attack resulted in a victory for the Mugen Tenshin clan.

As with all ninja clans the Mugen Tenshin clan’s society is governed a group of Master Ninja, with the ninja ‘troops’ ranking from Greater Ninja to Lesser Ninja. The Master Ninjas govern the clan’s activities both within and outside the village and are regarded with respect by other members of the clan. There are currently eighteen Master Ninjas in the clan, with Hayate becoming the 18th.
The society is also supported by a shadow sect; practitioners of the Hajin Mon style of the clan’s ninjutsu serve as loyal guards and servants to the Master Ninjas and are considered to be amongst the highest skilled members of the clan.
They are in good relations with the Hayabusa Ninja Clan.
[edit] Mugen Tenshin Style Ninjutsu
The Mugen Tenshin style ninjutsu is the style of the Mugen Tenshin clan. The style itself is split into two perspectives.
[edit] Tenjin Mon
This is the foreground perspective of Mugen Tenshin style ninjutsu. Most ninjas from the Mugen Tenshin clan belong to this perspective. Tenjin Mon practitioners train in order to acquire superhuman physical strength and battle technique and are highly resistant to physical pressure.
Practitioners include: Kasumi, Hayate, Raidou, Ayame, Shiden
[edit] Hajin Mon
Hajin Mon (God Conqueror) is the background of Mugen Tenshin style ninjutsu and is considered a secret style within the Mugen Tenshin clan. Hajin Mon practitioners possess the same capabilities of Tenjin Mon practitioners however the style is a lot less direct in attacks with emphasis on stronger ninpo abilities. The ninja of the Hajin Mon style, despite possessing unbelievable powers, provide background support and loyalty to the Tenjin Mon ninja.

[edit] Fuma Kodachi

A pair of short blades handed down within the Tenjin school. They are light but sharp, making them good complements for physical attacks. They don't have much reach, but their speed and multiple strikes more than make up for it. Ayane is seen wielding a pair of these blades during her appearances in the Ninja Gaiden series.
[edit] The Torn Sky Blast technique
A powerful Tenjin technique, the rogue ninja Raidou returned to the clan village seeking to learn it; eventually mimicking it from Hayate during a duel.
[edit] The Art of the Raging Mountain God technique

A secret Tenjin technique that imbues the body with the aura of all creation. The aura transforms into trememndous energy and is released all at once by slamming her fist into the ground. The intense shockwave of violet flames blows away all enemies in the area.
Casters who use this technique before they are ready to wield its power risk their own destruction. However, the teenage Ayane already uses this technique like an expert, making her both a prodgy and a force to be reckoned with.
